Sara's full firsthand review
Rather than completely vanishing, I am glad that CCB decided to re-locate their business. The new location is tucked in a small plaza strip on Westheimer. The parking is quite tight though and you may have to park at the plaza located next to the cafe. At least that is what I had to do on a busy Friday night. It is not my favorite part of town, but it is closer than the old location. This part of town does get quite lively throughout the week with many different shops open until late at night. The environment is dimly lighted as the previous location, and the interior space is stuffy with little to no space to move around, especially near the coffee station and ordering section. The folks working here are friendly and move as fast as possible with many orders coming their way. I have tried both the regular beignets and the strip beignets. My favorite will always be the regular beignets. I did notice the beignets were chewier and dense than usual. Maybe they should be fried a bit longer, or the dough should be rolled out smoother. The beignets at the previous CCB location were my favorite. I used to stuff my face with so many beignets at one time! Those were the days. I'll definitely be dropping by again and I'm hoping the beignets will have improved by then. But other than that, I am glad that CCB is still around and I am looking forward to bringing out of town guests here!
