Sara's review

Our visit and review

“Great selection of desserts. But just okay.”

Sara's full firsthand review

Great selection of desserts. But just okay. I ordered a seasonal berry frangipane tart. The bottom of the dessert was charred and over baked. The black bottom of the tart created a burnt and bitter taste in my mouth. Not so good. The brioche bread pudding had too much of an eggy taste and was not sweet enough. It was just okay. I did like the generous amount of berries on top. I think i'm more used to sweet and rich bread puddings since I live in the South. The only dessert that I did like was the tres leches cake. I loved the incorporation of the buttery crust against the smoothness of the milky cake. Delish. The cafe au lait was nice as well. I fancied the large bowls the cafe au lait was presented in. Yes, I am snobby when it comes to desserts. I have a degree in baking and pastry. Tartine was just okay in my experience but I would not mind coming back again and trying something new!
